After walking for about 5 hours through different villages and forest, we step into Paiya passing through Surke and Pakhepani. Overnight in Paiya.

The initial part of the trek is difficult as it goes on a steep uphill trail. Leaving the Khumbu region, we come to cross Hinku Valley. The amazing view of the mountain peaks attracts us as we move towards Pankongma. After passing through Khare Khola and walking for hours, the track becomes steeps until Pangkongma. Overnight in Pangkongma.

Start by trekking through the beautiful forest of rhododendron and bamboo towards Pangkongma La which is at 3,170m altitude. As we walk on the stony trail, we get the mesmerizing view of Mera Peak (6,476m). After enjoying the beautiful view, descend through the pine forest to cross the Hinku River and finally reach Nashing Dingma. Overnight in Nashing Dingma.

The initial part of the trek is a steep climb uphill through the grazing meadows and hills. The trails are slippery which can make it difficult to move further. Walking through the grazing lands, lush hills, and rhododendron forest, we reach the camping site at Chalem Kharka.

It is a challenging day as the trails are steep uphill at high elevation amidst the mountain scenery. Walking past the forest and grazing lands, we walk towards the pass to cross the Chunbu Kharka to stay for the night at a camp.

It is a steep descend for most of the part of the trek to Kothe in the Hinku Valley. We walk through the lush green forest on a downhill trail. The walk takes about 6 hours and is challenging because of the slippery trail. Once we move downhill to the river bank at Kothe, we stay there for the night at a campsite.

The walk alongside the edges of Hinku Khola leads us to Thangnak. Walking for about 5 hours, we cross Gondishung. This place is famous for the ancient Buddhist monastery called Lungsumgba Gompa. It also has temporary summer camps for yak herders. We finally reach Thangnak and set the camp for the night.

We walk to Khare via Dig Kharka on this day. As we move further to the higher elevation, we come across beautiful views of Mera Peak (6,476m). We move slowly towards Dig Kharka and then ascend to Khare. Once we reach Khare, we enjoy the ambiance of the place situated on the moraines of Khare Glacier and Mera Glacier on the foot of Mera Peak (6,476m). Overnight at the camp in Khare.

Before moving further, today we have a rest day for acclimatization, exploration, and preparation of a climbing course under the supervision of our skilled climbing guide. Head up to the start of the Mera Glacier by ascending a steep edge that we will later follow to the Mera La Pass (5,415m). First, we train on the methods to use crampons, rope, and ice axe, etc. Thereafter, we train on peak climbing. This aids us for out summit to Mera Peak (6476m). We strongly believe that some training before climbing will increase your confidence and your climbing skills to increase the chances of a successful ascent. Later, we return to Khare for the overnight stay.

Today will be an exciting day of climbing as the three hours climb over a difficult trail up to the glacier takes us up to Mera La (5,415m). After crossing Mera La Pass (5415m), we reach Mera Peak Base Camp situated on the bank of the glacier. Overnight in Mera Peak Base Camp.

Today, we move to high camp from base camp; the vertical stony trial takes us to the high camp at the elevation of 5,800 meters through Mera La Pass (5,415m). Under normal circumstances, the crevasses can be hiked around very easily to slightly sharper but open snow inclines that lead without trouble to the high camp. We have an additional day set aside for bad weather conditions. If everything is good and fine and you are determined to summit the peak, then we can go further. Else, you can explore the areas around or spend time practicing the techniques that will help the climbing the very next day.

Today is another big day as we summit Island Peak (6,189m), locally known as Imja Tse. We start early and walk on the rocky section of the peak. Afterward, we climb on the glacier through snowy trails up to the top ridge. The most interesting part of the adventure is the final climb.
