Island Peak via Everest Base Camp and Kongma-la pass
2670

The Island Peak via Everest Base Camp and Kongma La Pass Trek is one of the most legendary treks in the world that literally confronts you to an eight-thousander, crosses a tough high mountain pass, and takes you to the top of a stunning mountain peak. The trek sharpens your hunger for mountains as the trial goes through spectacular landscapes, traditional Sherpa villages, luscious alpine forests, and to the trek’s ultimate destination, the summit of Island Peak (6189m).

After a thrilling flight to Lukla, the trek starts with a hike up the Dudh Koshi Valley, bounded by the rising peaks of Thamserku (6608m) and Kusum Khangkaru (6367m). The trail then heads toward Namche Bazaar, a busy Sherpa land. From Namche, the trek moves on to Tengboche, home to the biggest monastery in the whole Khumbu region—Tengboche Monastery. The trail then moves on past several Sherpa settlements like Pangboche, Pheriche, Dughla, and Lobuche to reach the moraine trail of the Khumbu Glacier leading towards Everest Base Camp. A breath-taking view of Everest (8848m) and several other peaks of the region await you at the base camp of the highest mountain in the world. Similarly, a hike to Kala Patthar (5550m) rewards you with a stunning mountain view accompanied by a gorgeous sunrise. Later, a steep trail through Khumbu Glacier takes you to the frozen pass of Kongma La (5535m), adding thrill to the already exhilarating trek. The trek then finally takes you to the Island Peak Base Camp, from where you make the exciting climb to the summit of Island Peak (6189m), which hosts mind-blowing panorama of various snow-capped peaks of the Khumbu and the Makalu regions. The trek, all in all, is an ideal journey for all adventure seekers who love to conquer gorgeous mountain peaks.

The already fascinating trek will be even more fascinating with our qualified, experienced, and humble team that will keep your safety checked while you immerse in the journey. Himalayan Summit Treks and Expedition has been delivering quality service since 2016 and strives to better the services provided by the company, so let us be a part of your trip and assist you in making beautiful memories in the Himalayas.
