An overwhelmingly exciting journey to the Himalayas, Mera Peak and Island Peak climb with Amphu Lapsta Pass challenges you in every way, physically and mentally, as you traverse through steep glacial routes and reach the summit of two gorgeous peaks of Khumbu that host surreal views of the world’s highest mountains while a technical climb across Amphu Lapsta Pass (5845m) connects the routes of the two peaks.
The trip starts in Kathmandu as you check all the expedition equipment’s before taking an exhilarating flight to Lukla from where you head on to your destinations. You take the steady route to Mera Peak summit trekking through the forests of rhododendron and pine leading to a steep moraine route to reach Mera Base Camp via Thangnak. A thrilling climb through the glacier to the summit of Mera Peak (6476m) serves an awe-inspiring view of the Khumbu Himalayas including the giants Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8414m), and Cho Oyu (8188m). The trip gets even more exciting after the Mera Peak summit as it moves on to the wilderness of Makalu Barun National Park and heads towards the frozen pass of Amphu Lapsta (5845m) that offers an unreal view of the white Himalayas. Crossing the pass after a tough climb through the glacier takes the trip ahead to the next destination, Island Peak (6189m). A technical mountain climbing experience to last for a lifetime, reaching the summit of Island Peak (6189m) gives you a breath-taking view of Mt Lhotse (8414m) including other high Himalayas.
