School Trip – Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek
1050

Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek is an ideal trek for the curious young minds, for the trek exposes them to the beautiful Tamang communities in the Langtang Valley and provides them with the opportunity to learn about the culture and lifestyle of the local people living in the foothills of the Langtang Himal Range. This trek provides the pupils with an insight of the practices of Buddhism and how the Tibeto-Burman ethnic group, Tamang, have kept the traditions alive in their ancient monasteries like Kyanjin Gumba.

Tamang Heritage and Langtang Valley Trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Sybrubensi and later follows the trails of Langtang River, taking you to the beautiful Tamang settlements nestled in the lap of the Langtang Himal Rage. Thus, this trek combines astonishing views of the Himalayan ranges whilst making the pupils aware of the local culture. Many Tamang villages, situated across Bhote Koshi River, are visited before heading on to the Langtang Valley. Then walking through the thick forest of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron, the trek takes you to the picturesque Langtang village situated right below Langtang Lirung (7227m). From Langtang village, the trek reaches the famous Kyangin Gompa to find the most sacred monastery of the region and also to have a cheese testing session at Yala Cheese Factory. You will have many stops along the way and can take pictures with friends as well as the local people so that you have the memory to last a lifetime. The trek is even more fun when the pupils interact with the local kids, who are very shy and may not know English at all but are very curious and welcoming. Your school trip then comes to an end as you move back to Kathmandu via Dhunche.

We at Himalayan Summit Treks and Expedition believe that this school trip organized by us helps in building the character of a student in a positive manner. Hence, to make the most out of the trek, we provide you with a friendly and experienced guide who can answer to almost all the queries by the young ones. For the safety and comfort of the children, we provide you with excellent accommodation and transportation facilities. We encourage the children to ask questions and to interact with the locals. With us, the children are bound to make unforgettable memories in the lap of the Himalayas.
